Job Overview
The British Council in Korea is looking for a FT teacher to help expand its growing B2B (Business to Business) offer. The B2B team started in September 2022 and operates from our adult teaching centre in Euljiro, Seoul. The courses we offer range from lower-level general English courses to more specialised business skills courses.
Main duties
Teach classes to a very high standard in order to meet students’ needs and actively working as a member of the teaching team
Complete teaching related administrative tasks to specified standards
Provide excellent customer service through a selection of customer facing activities
Engage actively in professional development and performance management
Support local marketing and promotional strategy, and assist the Teaching Centre team in delivering excellent customer service for B2B products
Qualifications
Essentials
Undergraduate/University degree (in any discipline)
Cambridge CELTA/Trinity cert TESOL
Desirable
Recognized Diploma in EFL i.e. DELTA/Trinity Dip TESOL/ MA TESOL
Work Experience
2 years full-time post certificate i.e. CELTA/Trinity cert TESOL – with experience gained from teaching General/ Business English to Adults.
A minimum of 1200+ hours of experience should have been gained from teaching Adult and YL learners.
Salary & Benefits
Salary: KRW 2,493,148 - KRW 3,123,233 (Depending on qualifications and experience)
Annual Leave: 45 days
Medical Allowances: All British Council teachers are registered with Allianz Partners, the designated British Council insurer, to receive medical cover for themselves and their dependents
Bonus: Yearly completion bonus will be provided
Additional Information
Contract Duration: 24 Months
Contract Hours: 38 hours per week including 24 hours of teaching.
Work schedule: The successful post holder will work 5 days a week and one weekend day and have two consecutive days off.
This position is for F-type visa holders only, visa holders must have the right to work and stay in the country
Local restrictions on employment: To obtain a teaching visa, teachers’ nationalities and university degrees must be from an English speaking country (UK, Ireland, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa) defined by the government of South Korea.
