The Research Special Interest Group (RSIG) is a vibrant community within KOTESOL dedicated to supporting members in developing their research interests. We aim to create a friendly, collaborative space where teachers and researchers can explore ideas, share experiences, and grow together.
The RSIG serves as a practical resource for anyone interested in research, whether you are just getting started or working toward publication! Members can exchange feedback, discuss research design, and support one another through the challenges of writing, data analysis, and everything in between. Our goal is to help members develop publishable research studies, including support for theses and dissertations.
Each term, we organize at least two sessions: one focused on the research process (practical “how-to” guidance) and another featuring a presentation of published research. Anyone interested is welcome to attend and join the conversation.
The Research SIG is facilitated by Meerbek Kudaibergenov, who works to foster an inclusive and supportive research community.
We also encourage members to explore relevant EFL journals and share ideas for future activities. Your input helps shape what this SIG becomes, so let’s learn and grow together!
