Our national treasurer and secretary are both leaving Korea, and their successors will not be elected until October. We need volunteers to take over each position before the current occupants leave! You will only be in the position until October (though you are strongly encouraged to run for the office, if you enjoy the work), and training will be provided. Additional information is below.

NATIONAL SECRETARY
Duties
- Take minutes and record attendance at all National Council meetings (including the Annual Business Meeting and Leadership Retreat)
- Circulate minutes among National Council members for their consideration and revise for accuracy based on their input
- Collect, compile, and circulate reports from National Council executives, committee chairs, and chapter presidents prior to National Council meetings.
- Publish approved minutes on the KOTESOL website
- Backup and maintain a repository of important documents
Skills Needed
- Detail-oriented (must record minutes accurately)
- Ability to attend all NC meetings (schedule conflicts burden others by forcing them to assume the secretary's duties in their absence)
- Proficient with word processing software, such as MS Word
Skills Preferred
- Quick typist
- Proficient with document publishing software, such as Adobe Acrobat
- Some knowledge of parliamentary procedure and Robert's Rules of Order
- Previous experience recording minutes
NATIONAL TREASURER
Duties
- Act as a fiduciary for the financial affairs of KOTESOL
- Keep appropriate bank accounts in the name of KOTESOL
- Maintain accurate records of the finances of the organization
- Maintain a list of KOTESOL members
- Prepare the annual operating budget
- Manage all funds belonging to KOTESOL in an open and accountable manner
Skills Needed
- Very detail-oriented
- Familiarity with QuickBooks
- Facility with numbers
Skills Preferred
- Familiarity with Google Drive (to help with International Conference pre-registration)
- Experience using online banking in Korea or willingness to learn
