The Suwon-Gyeonggi KOTESOL chapter’s June workshop features one speaker, Jangho Won presenting “Multimedia-based Writing Classes and Evaluation; The Classroom Use of TED-Ed, Pecha Kucha, and Shape Poems.”

Abstract:
“Multimedia-based Writing Classes and Evaluation; The Classroom Use of TED-Ed, Pecha Kucha, and Shape Poems.”
During his 16-year teaching career, Jangho Won has been able to develop multimedia-based writing classes and systems of evaluation for them. He will share techniques to implement these classes and evaluation methods. He will also explain how to create teaching materials using TED-Ed and the Pecha Kucha presentation format. Additionally, he will cover the use of shape poems in the classroom.
Speaker Bio:
Jangho Won began his career at Susung High School, where he was an English teacher from 2003 to 2006. From 2007 to 2014 he was an English teacher at the Suwon Academy of World Languages. He then moved to Sunganm Foreign Language High School, where he taught from 2015 to 2018. He now teaches English at Gyeonggi Science High School. Additionally, he has been an English teacher for EBS, focusing on the KSAT. He was also selected by EBSe as one of the “Best English Teachers.” Finally, he conducted research about “Teaching Motivation and Dynamics” with professor Yujo Kimura at Doyama University for 9 years.
