A new semester (or month) is nearly here. And there’s an old saying: Fail to plan, plan to fail.
To some degree, teachers plan lessons. Lesson plans are often administrative requirements. Sometimes
not. But they are part of an effective teacher’s toolkit. Novice teachers might detail plans, including aims
and objectives, materials, activities, and timings. Experienced teachers might draw on their experience
and simply make mental notes. What kind of lesson planning do you typically do?
In this online workshop, we will first discuss lesson planning in general. And teachers are encouraged to
share lesson plan templates. Next, in the main part of this workshop, we will brainstorm reflection
questions for assessing lessons and evaluating what happens in our classes. In closing, expect to reflect
on how lesson plans fit into the reflective practice cycle.
