KOTESOL is seeking bids for a candidate to carry out part-time bookkeeping work and other duties to support our treasury needs.
Position Opening

Job Description
- Monthly: Track and process invoices, bill payments, and reimbursements; liaise with the KOTESOL president, national treasurer, chapter treasurers, various KOTESOL committee chairs (conference, sponsorship, membership, auditing), and the tax office; respond to emails
- Quarterly: Produce financial reports
- Annually: Prepare tax-related documentation
- Time commitment: ~10-20 hours per quarter with some quieter and busier periods
Preferred Candidate Qualifications and Characteristics
Skills
- Financial: Ability to keep track of and process transactions in multiple currencies; familiarity with the Korean tax system (preferred)
- Computer: Familiarity with Google Drive, Sheets, and Docs
- Language: English (B2 or above) and Korean (B2 or above)
Experience (preferred)
- Accounting: Accounts payable and receivable
- Organizational: Work in a bilingual/international organization

Candidates are not required to be a certified public accountant, but this position might be of interest to licensed CPAs or those studying for a CPA license. While some work may involve in-person banking or meetings, most work should be possible to do remotely.
