JNJ KOTESOL's 2019 Wrap-up and Year End Workshop

Jeonju North Jeolla KOTESOL has had an outstanding year!

They were chosen to host the 2019 KOTESOL National Conference and really gave it their all; welcoming teachers from far and wide to experience excellent presentations to invigorate their teaching practice.

In the spring, they treated us with workshop presentations by Sam Costa, Rachel Barker, Betsey Norman, and Ehean Kim. The presentations encompassed topics such as: classroom management skills, assessment as part of the learning process, project based learning, and fun ways to enrich vocabulary.

Leaning into summer, Teri An Joy Magpale demonstrated multimodal writing and Daniel Corks showed some information gap activities that students find most interesting!

Moving on to autumn, of course there was the International Conference that many attended in Seoul. And locally, Leon Rose gave tips about many teaching and life hacks for Korea and Wayne Finley delivered a presentation on engaging job interview activities.

Most recently, there was an enthusiastic turnout for the November workshop with Brennand Kennedy outlining reflective practice and Tory Thorkelson speaking on reader's theater and acting in the classroom.

As we move in to December and the weather gets colder, the chapter officers are still in a flurry of activity planning a year end KOTESOL workshop to delight Jeolla's teaching community.

Catch the action at Jeonju University's Star Center the afternoon of Saturday, December 14th.

Everyone interested in continuing to develop teaching skills is welcome to participate in the meetings. While membership is encouraged, chapter workshops are always free of charge for both members and non-members alike. If you would like to join local volunteers and get more involved with this KOTESOL chapter, let us know at any of the monthly workshops or make contact through the Facebook page.
