Given the festive season and holidays, this month’s workshop for the Jeonju-North Jeolla Chapter of KOTSEOL decided to focus on celebration and joy.
The first workshop was lead by long-time KOTESOL member, executive member, and faculty member at Jeonju University Ingrid Zwaal. Recognizing the difficulty of getting students engaged at this time of year, Ingrid brought a wide variety of activities that can be used in the classroom to get through these last couple weeks of the year. Providing differentiated activities, Ingrid then led us all on a card-making activity.
The second workshop was a moderated discussion, facilitated by Shirlen Hardeo and Frank G. Karioris, about the future directions and opportunities for JNJ KOTESOL. The discussion ranged from past-lessons to identifying new avenues for the organization. After a warm and engaged dialogue, the group had the yearly election.
We are excited to announce that Lisa MacIntyre-Park has been elected President, and Suhhee Kang the Vice-President. The rest of the Executive is Ingrid Zwaal (Treasurer), Fran Gibson & Frank G. Karioris (Web Editing/Promotion), Aida Park (Conference Organizer Lead), Yuying Kang & Liliana Tintin (Membership Coordinators), and Allison Bill (Past-President). Congratulations to all the newly elected officers!
We are still looking for a Workshop Coordinator, so if you are in the Jeonju-North Jeolla region and are looking for an amazing leadership opportunity, please do reach out!
