in essence - a Summary of the website --
designed for ease of use, but one does have to jump through all the hoops. Opening an account and purchasing a book at Amazon or other online stores is really the same (though we forget that after we've done it a few times!). And yes, in many ways, this website works like a store, as you "purchase" various memberships or conference passes.
