Seongnam Foreign Language High School is looking for an experienced English teacher to teach speaking and writing classes to ambitious students.
Description:
Teachers teach English production skills (speaking and writing). There is a wider than usual range of English ability (A2-C2) and performance tests are taken seriously. Students are bright, kind, and diligent, and the working environment is warm and friendly, too.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Teaching a range of students using communicative methods
- Designing, implementing, and grading speaking and writing performance tests
- Proofreading midterm and final exam papers
- Preparing students for University entrance interviews
Conditions:
- Working hours are 8:40-16:40 Mon-Fri and foreign teachers teach 18-20 hours a week (although it is possible to teach up to 22).
- Pay ranges from 2.1-2.5 a month depending on experience and qualifications with 26 paid vacation days and end of year renewal bonus (1 month’s pay).
- Housing or a housing subsidy (400K) is offered.
- 1-year renewable contract (subject to performance)
Requirements:
- You need to have or meet the criteria of an E-2 visa.
- Have teaching experience and a TESOL qualification (ideally in-class).
Preferences:
- Public school experience (ideally high school)
- Master’s degree in English/Education/TESOL or related field (open to humanities subject)
